Food and beverage importers targeting the UAE often discover labelling issues after shipment. At that point, options are limited: relabel, re-export or delay listing. A review against specifications and intended claims is cheaper while the product is still at origin.
Match the panel to the specification
Nutrition information, ingredient order and allergen statements should correspond to the documents the manufacturer will provide. If they do not, the file and the pack cannot both be right.
Read the claims on the front of pack
Health and nutrition claims on the principal display panel are part of the regulatory presentation. They should be reviewed with the same attention as the back-of-pack legal box.
